Airing Both Sides of Murray Flap
Yesterday, June 7, I wrote a letter in support of Sylvester Murray. This morning I read the published complete transcript of his interviews with the Los Angeles Times. If you have done so, you must agree that this city owes an apology to Mr. Murray, and the City Council owes him a vote of confidence.
His priorities, his agenda, his perception of his power and position, are very apparent when you read his full and complete answers to the questions put to him. They are priorities and goals that bode well for this city. His positive attitude toward the police in general, and the chief of police in particular, is so clear in his answers, one wonders how such negative “vibes” could have come out of such positive words.
This has led me to draw a conclusion about the Miracle of Journalism: Only Christ could turn water into wine, and only a journalist could turn good wine into excrement.
As I stated in my letter yesterday, Sylvester Murray is welcome in my neighborhood anytime.
