West Hollywood : Volunteers Sought for Survey

The city Economic Development Department is seeking volunteers to participate in a historic-preservation survey of West Hollywood landmarks.

The survey, which will be completed within the next year, will be conducted by a team of residents. Volunteers with expertise in architecture, history and urban design will carry out field surveys and research the histories of buildings and homes built before 1946.

The survey will be used to develop the city’s historic and architectural preservation strategy, said Deborah Potter, economic development manager.

The city also will establish a Historic Preservation Review Commission to verify the survey’s findings. Applicants for the commission must have experience in identifying and analyzing cultural and architectural resources.
