Culver City : Board Supports Principal
The Board of Education has given a vote of confidence to embattled Culver City Middle School Principal Ann Picker.
Supt. Curtis I. Rethmeyer said that the board issued a statement expressing its satisfaction with Picker’s performance as an administrator at a special meeting with Middle School teachers and staff members.
Picker has been the focus of a controversy since March when 26 Middle School staff members signed a letter expressing dissatisfaction with her performance and blaming her for low teacher morale.
Rethmeyer also said that the board called for an end to the dissension and asked the staff and the administration to establish better means of communicating. The district hired a consultant in conflict resolution to help mediate the dispute.
