Since the Dodgers are stuck with Niedenfuer because of contractual demands and Lasorda’s myopia, why not let him earn his keep pitching batting practice? Even the Dodgers who don’t normally hit home runs (e.g., Greg Brock) might get a boost in confidence as their drives carom off the palm trees beyond center field.
