Federal air investigators were investigating the cause of a crash in which four people were killed when their small plane slammed into a tree after taking off from South Lake Tahoe Airport. Names of the two men and two women who died in the wreck were not released pending notification of relatives, officials said. “It appeared that (the plane) just went full power into a tree and exploded,” said Sheriff’s Deputy Warren Berg.
