Frankfurt’s Airport Marks Its 50th Year

FRANKFURT, West Germany — Frankfurt airport, the busiest in continental Europe, celebrated its 50th anniversary with overflights by 1930s-era planes.
In the highlight of Tuesday’s anniversary ceremonies, three Junker JU-52 propeller-driven planes flew over the airport and the surrounding area.
