Former NBA guard Lenny Wilkens gave up his position as general manager of the Seattle SuperSonics, whom he had formerly coached, and accepted the head coaching job with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wilkens, 48, signed a three-year contract worth a reported $750,000 with the Cavaliers.
“I missed coaching quite a bit,” Wilkens said. “It’s difficult for you to understand unless you have been a coach. It gets into your blood. I knew at the end of last season that I’d rather be coaching.”
