Tri-Star Pictures reported a 34% increase in its second-quarter earnings over the like period a year earlier. The New York-based studio attributed the improvement to the successful domestic theatrical release of the movie “Short Circuit,” which was released in 1,033 theaters in May, and the availability for pay-TV exhibition of “Rambo: First Blood Part II” and “Lifeforce.”
