Singer Marilyn McCoo begins soap duties July 31 when she bows in as Tamara Price, a recurring character on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives.”
Al Rabin, supervising exec producer, said there are no plans for McCoo to have an individual storyline right away. But something could be in the offing--maybe even a love interest. Admitted Rabin: “We’ve been in search of a story line for Jim Reynolds (Abe Carver) for a long time.”
While not a regular daytime viewer (“I work during the day and my tape machine is broken,” she joked), McCoo knows about the daily soap grind. “I feel if I can cut it on daytime TV, I can cut it anywhere. The demands are greater there than anywhere else.”
