Sonora’s Gordon Blakeley to Take Cypress Post

Gordon Blakeley resigned as baseball coach at Sonora High School to become an assistant baseball coach at Cypress College, Sonora announced this week.
This past season, Blakeley led the Raiders (25-2) to the Freeway league title. Sonora was eliminated from the 3-A playoffs in the second round by Lompoc, 7-5.
In Blakeley’s six seasons, the Raiders were 105-48. Blakeley, 32, will continue to teach special education classes at Sonora and will be a part-time physical education teacher at Cypress as well as an assistant to baseball Coach Scott Pickler.
Sonora pitching coach John Link has been named to replace Blakeley.
