Valley Dodgers Sweep Two Games From Long Beach
- Share via
Steve Dunn and Steve Stark combined on a seven-inning no-hitter to start the San Fernando Valley Dodgers toward a doubleheader sweep of the Long Beach 49ers on Saturday at Cal State Long Beach.
Dunn (2-1) worked four innings and Stark pitched the final three as the Dodgers defeated the 49ers, 4-2, in the first game between the semipro teams. The Dodgers won the second game, 11-6. Poor defense prevented the Dodgers from a shutout in the first game as both Long Beach runs scored on errors. Two Dodger errors led to a run in the sixth, and two more resulted in another run in the seventh.
