A fisherman who hauled in an 831-pound catch probably would have just as soon it had gotten away. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department said a torpedo dating back to 1941 was pulled up in a fishing boat’s nets. The unidentified fisherman reported that the torpedo with the 1941 date had been found in his nets of the San Mateo County coast. Army officials were called in , but determined that it was not explosive.
