The San Diego Pops Orchestra provided musical background for the “Panel Tilt” party last week for the first major manufacturer to locate in San Diego’s Otay Mesa area near the new international border crossing.
A 90-foot crane lifted the final concrete wall panel into place at Sanyo’s 350,000-square-foot building in the San Diego Business Park. Small refrigerators will be manufactured in the plant.
The park is a development of California Structures, San Diego. Sanyo, a Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronics, also is building a facility in Tijuana as part of the twin-plant operation.
