The Palestine Liberation Organization criticized Vice President George Bush’s recent tour of the Middle East and Jordan’s proposed aid program for Palestinians who live in Israeli-occupied territories. The PLO linked the aid proposal to what it said was a U.S.-Israeli plan for permanent Israeli occupation of the West Bank. A statement issued in Baghdad, Iraq, at the end of a meeting of the PLO’s Executive Committee also condemned the talks between Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Morocco’s King Hassan II last month and reiterated the PLO call for an international Mideast conference.
