Angeles Forest : Cabin Permits Considered
- Share via
The U.S. Forest Service is studying whether to resume issuing permits for the use of 18 summer cabins in Millard Canyon, officials said. Millard Canyon is north of Altadena in the Arroyo Seco Ranger District of Angeles National Forest. Besides the 60-year-old cabins, there is a campground and several hiking trails in the canyon.
The study will determine the environmental impact of the cabins on overall recreation needs and uses of the canyon, said Gail Vanderbie, recreation officer for the Forest Service. A public meeting on the issue will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Altadena Public Library, 600 E. Mariposa St.
