Continental Airlines will begin a trial program to discourage smoking on all flights by offering discounts on future travel to passengers who do not smoke during Continental flights, the airline said. Under the program, which Continental will try out for 30 days, beginning Aug. 25, passengers who do not smoke during a flight will receive a coupon good for 10% off Continental advance-purchase fares. The coupon will be good from Sept. 15 through Nov. 15 on any of the airline’s foreign or domestic flights.
