Soviet Satellite About to Plunge

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — A mysterious and apparently massive Soviet satellite in a decaying orbit is expected to plunge back to Earth on Saturday, promising to make a “spectacular re-entry” as it breaks up in the atmosphere, experts said today.
A spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, said it will not be possible to predict where the satellite will re-enter until just before the event.
