NEW YORK — The gay bandit whose bungled robbery of a Brooklyn bank inspired the movie “Dog Day Afternoon” was back in jail today for violating his parole by visiting his imprisoned “male husband.”
John Wojtowicz, 41, had been barred from visiting George Heath, an inmate at the Auburn Correctional Facility. Wojtowicz was released from prison in 1978 after serving six years of a 7 1/2- to 15-year prison sentence.
