Figuring Out Celsius-Fahrenheit

I find it incredible that you waste editorial space to encourage publishers and teachers to adopt a “simplified” method of converting temperatures.
You are clearly missing the point. There should not need to be a reason to make conversions at all!
The rest of the world, developed and underdeveloped alike, have adopted the international metric system of measurement, yet the U.S.A. in a naive display of isolationism stubbornly refuses to encourage change.
Why clutter up the minds of present and future generations of American children with such arithmetic gobbledygook. Is it not more productive and rewarding to allow young minds to seek out more creative pursuits?
