Maintenance at Airport
I read with great interest your article (Aug. 11) regarding maintenance facilities at John Wayne Airport.
Some additional research would show that the reason some of the larger operators have expanded is because of the insurance requirements that are necessary to run an operation of this type.
Also, I think you would find that a number of smaller operators are either totally non-insured or do not use Federal Aviation Administration-certified mechanics when doing plane repairs.
The truth of the matter is a lot of the public at John Wayne Airport is flying around in airplanes that may not be properly repaired, endangering everyone who lives or works near the airport.
