GADSDEN, Ala. — A police helicopter and bloodhounds searched for a jail escapee believed to have fatally shot his ex-wife and two other people early Monday, authorities said.
Glenn Holladay, 37, who escaped from the Cherokee County Jail in March, stormed the rural trailer home of Rebecca Ledbetter Holladay, 31, and opened fire about 2 a.m., authorities said. Also killed were William David Robinson, 25, and Larry D. Thomas Jr., 16. Two other teen-agers in the trailer were not injured.
Holladay was being held on a charge of buying and receiving stolen property when he escaped from jail, Sheriff Roy McDowell said.
