A 43-year-old woman died Monday when she was thrown from her car after it went out of control on a freeway ramp, authorities reported.
Patricia Harrell of San Diego was driving alone at about 12:30 p.m. when the accident occurred on the ramp from northbound Interstate 5 to westbound Interstate 8, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Harrell died at the scene, the CHP said. No other cars were involved in the accident.
