The Air Force’s new AMRAAM air-to-air missile completed a successful test last Friday, for the first time relying on its own radar system to intercept a maneuvering drone, the Pentagon said. The test at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico was the first in which the missile was fired by a pilot visually and the first in which the missile did not receive any targeting data from the plane’s radar system after it was fired, the Pentagon said.
