Riverside County has approved $33-million in bond financing for the first phase of the $515-million Menifee Village project, according to the Lusk Co., developer.
Located south of Sun City, at Interstate 215 and Newport Road, the 1,945-acre master-planned community is scheduled to have almost 6,000 homes and an estimated population of 15,000.
Lusk division manager Wayne M. Klinck says he plans to break ground in December. Completion of the total project is expected to take eight to 10 years. A satellite campus for Mount San Jacinto College is scheduled to be in operation in the fall of 1989, with an enrollment of 1,700.
