Swiss Avalanche Toll 34

DAVOS, Switzerland — Avalanches in the Swiss Alps have killed 34 people this season, the Swiss Avalanche Institute said Tuesday. The avalanche season runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. In the last season, 55 people died, the third highest rate this century.
