The Marine Corps, although a branch of the Navy, is not following the Navy’s policy toward athletes. The Navy is allowing Ens. Napoleon McCallum to play with the Raiders during his free time, but the Marines denied the request of 1st Lt. Eddie Meyers for a transfer so he could play for the Atlanta Falcons.
Meyers asked for a transfer from Camp Pendleton to any available job in the Atlanta area. Meyers and McCallum both are running backs who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy.
