David J. Mahanes, president of Jack Daniel Distillery for more than a year, has been named chairman of the Brown-Forman Inc. unit, the parent company announced.
Mahanes replaces Martin S. Brown, who resigned as chairman of the Lynchburg, Tenn., distillery on Oct. 1.
Mahanes has been president of Jack Daniel since May, 1985, and joined Louisville, Ky.-based Brown-Forman in 1950.
