SNAPPING SEAN

Seriously, folks, if you’ve snapped Sean Penn since May 15 of this year, Spin magazine wants to see what’s developed. Turns out their “Sean Penn Photo Contest”--announced in June--is hurting for entries.

Diana Holtzberg, Spin director of marketing/P.R., explained that only a handful of photos have been submitted: “One shows Sean with a jacket over his head, but you can still see his face peeking through. It’s pretty good.”

She mused: “I have a feeling people didn’t take us seriously when we announced the contest. Or maybe it’s just because everybody’s afraid of Sean. . . .”

The winning photo will snare $100 worth of photo equipment (“especially useful should anything get destroyed in pursuit of a prize-winning picture,” reports a handout for the competition) and will be published in Spin early next year. Family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Penn aren’t eligible. Deadline is Dec. 15.
