Anaheim Group Makes Bid for NBA Team

Anaheim’s last-minute bid for a professional basketball franchise was called a longshot by some National Basketball Assn. officials and owners meeting in Phoenix, amid doubts that the Southland area could support a third team.
The Anaheim group, which made a presentation to the owners Monday, includes former Cleveland Cavaliers owner Nick Mileti. Other cities competing for an expansion franchise are Charlotte, N.C, Toronto, Minneapolis, Miami and Orlando. Details in Sports, Page 1.
