Drunk driving charges against singer Andy Williams were dropped after the jury in the case was unable to reach a verdict. The jurors in the Redlands trial had been deadlocked for 13 hours when Municipal Judge John Arden dismissed the case. The final vote was 9 to 3 in favor of Williams. The 57-year-old singer said he was pleased with the decision. Williams was stopped by California Highway Patrol officers on Jan. 20, after they allegedly spotted his Rolls Royce convertible weaving at 60-70 m.p.h. on Interstate 10. Williams told police that he was en route from Los Angeles to Palm Springs to participate in a golf tournament. A urine test reportedly showed Williams was legally intoxicated at the time he was stopped.
