The parents of a 15-day-old North Hollywood baby found dead in his crib Sunday were arrested on suspicion of felony child endangering, police said.
The baby, Steven Christopher Chacon, was pronounced dead at 11:50 a.m. by paramedics, police said. The cause of death is not known, but a Los Angeles Police detective said the home was characterized by “general neglect and filth.”
Christopher Thomas Chacon, 22, and Lori Ann Needham, 20, were arrested and are being held in lieu of $5,000 bail, police said. The couple’s 2-year-old daughter was placed in protective custody, police said.
