Scott Hoch fired a three-under-par 69 for a 72-hole score of 12-under-par 276 and a six-stroke victory in the $530,000 Casio World Open golf tournament at Ibusuki, Japan. Hoch, winner of this tournament in 1982, earned $95,000.
Spain’s Jose-Maria Olazabal finished second at 282 after a closing 74. Graham Marsh of Australia, who led the first two rounds, wound up third at 284 after a final-round 76.
American Bob Tway, who had a 67, Australian Ian Baker-Finch (74) and Japan’s Yoshihisa Iwashita (72) tied for fourth at 285.
