The Supreme Court, challenged to consider the issue of mandatory drug testing, refused to review a plan for random drug and alcohol tests on jockeys and other race track workers.
The court, without comment, declined to hear an appeal brought by a group of jockeys, including Bill Shoemaker and Angel Cordero, of a ruling by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that upheld New Jersey Racing Commission rules.
