Northridge Women Beaten in Texas a Third Time, 74-58

Clara Campbell and Patti Hayes combined for 47 points to lead the North Texas State women’s basketball team to a 74-58 nonconference victory over Cal State Northridge Thursday night at Denton, Tex.
Northridge, which has lost all three games on its Texas road trip and fell to 2-4, was paced by senior forward Denise Sitton, who had 20 points and nine rebounds. Teammates Julie Middleton and Marianne Dixon each had 11 points, while Kathleen Dixon added 10.
North Texas State, an NCAA Division I school, improved to 2-0.
Northridge led, 35-31, at halftime, but North Texas State went on a 12-0 run to start the second half and Northridge never again pulled even. CSUN, which made 16 of 32 shots in the first half, made only 7 of 27 in the second.
