Reagan and the Unfolding Iran-Contra Story

My teen-aged son noticed my apoplexy as I read the headlines. “What’s wrong, Mom?” he asked.

“Just look at this,” I said, waving, “Reagan calls North a hero.”

“North, North, isn’t he the guy who was fired?” Willy asked. “Who fired him?”

“Reagan did, I presume. It’s his Administration, after all,” I replied.

Willy: “I don’t get it. If North is supposed to be a hero, then why was he fired?”

Good question. I don’t get it either.
