‘Courageous Action’ of Anaya

After protracted “soul searching” discussions with a current and former public defender, a director of the American Civil Liberties Union, a Catholic Church representative, and his anti-capital punishment relatives, Gov. Anaya has commuted the death sentences of all convicted murders awaiting execution in his state.
If the governor really wanted to search his soul, he should have included on his consultation list the family and friends of the victims of these murderers before he acted in such a blanket fashion.
