Pacific Coast Games has been named Employer of the Month by the Orange County Private Industry Council in recognition of the firm’s hiring of seven people from the Chicano Pintos Inc.
Chicano Pintos is a program begun 15 years ago to help ex-offenders get jobs, organization spokesman Robert Bender said. Since then, the program has expanded to include people on welfare and those who have been unemployed for 120 days or more.
Pacific Coast Games hired the seven people for work as cabinet makers, assembly workers and electricians, company co-owner Mickey Moore said. The firm also obtains tax advantages through the Job Training Partnership Act, said Bender. For more information on the program, employers can contact the council at 834-8415.
