Three San Fernando Valley residents have won the Spotlight Award, honoring outstanding volunteers, by the Los Angeles chapter of the American Red Cross. Rachel Tarses of Woodland Hills was honored as a coordinator of disaster volunteers. Bernie Lehman of North Hollywood was cited for his training of instructors of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and promoting CPR training and awareness. Helen Pallad of Chatsworth was honored for her work with youth groups and as a first-aid and CPR instructor.
