The Pepperdine University Art Gallery, which has been closed for eight months for a $2-million renovation, will reopen Jan. 20 serving as co-host of an exhibit of maquettes--small-scale sculptures used as models for full-size works.
The dual-site exhibition, which also will include a display at the Fine Arts Building in Los Angeles, is titled “Los Angeles Public Art: Concept/Reality.”
The maquettes and other works by 23 artists, including Alexander Calder and Kent Twitchell, will be shown at the Pepperdine gallery through Feb. 22 and at the Fine Arts Building, 811 W. 7th St., through Feb. 27.
