Wyoming selected Athletic Director Paul Roach, a former assistant coach at the school, as its new football coach, filling the vacancy created by the unexpected departure of Dennis Erickson. Roach, assistant coach from 1962 to 1970, will take over immediately for Erickson, who left Wyoming to take over coaching duties at Washington State.
Roach also is a former assistant coach with the NFL Raiders.
