ORANGE COUNTY PREP BASKETBALL : Girls’ Roundup : Gondringer’s 36 Leads La Quinta

Center Donna Gondringer scored a school-record 36 points Friday to lead the La Quinta High School girls’ basketball team to a 67-39 victory over Santiago in a Garden Grove League game at Santiago.
Gondringer broke her own record of 34 set earlier this season against Ocean View. The 6-foot 1-inch junior made 18 of 30 shots from the floor as the Aztecs improved their league record to 3-0 and overall mark to 10-5.
Guard Kris Takayama added 6 points and 14 assists for La Quinta. Ilona Goddard led the Cavaliers (1-2, 6-7) with 12 points.
