FREMANTLE, Australia — On a day without racing in the America’s Cup, Dennis Conner provided a thrill for Sunday visitors to this town, just the same.
With New Zealand taking a second lay day after falling behind, 3-1, in the best-of-seven challenge finals, Conner took Stars & Stripes out for three hours of sail testing.
He returned into the small harbor under full sail and dropped his spinnaker in front of Lombardo’s restaurant, one of his favorite hangouts.
