ATLANTA — The Lakers, winners of the first two games of a five-game trip, will play the Atlanta Hawks here tonight. The Hawks just dropped out of first place in the National Basketball Assn.’s Central Division for the first time this season.
Playing without leading scorer Dominique Wilkins, who strained his right knee in a game Sunday, the Hawks were overtaken by the Detroit Pistons, who beat Atlanta Monday night, 108-98. The Hawks did not work out Tuesday, and a team official said Wilkins is listed as questionable for tonight’s game.
