Seven University of Missouri students, six of them members of the football team, were charged with using a stolen credit card to make more than $2,700 worth of long-distance calls.

The charges allege that each of the seven made more than $50 worth of calls on the card last year. The charges against them are misdemeanors.

University police said the credit card was stolen from a female student, who reported her purse missing after she had left it in the lobby of a campus dormitory.

The players are wide receiver-kick returner Kevin Hagens and defensive back Jesse Holmes, defensive backs Kenny King and Cordell McKinney, running back Roland Young and wide receiver Patrick Overshown. The seventh person is Joseph Gresham, a former hurdler on the school’s track team.
