A snowstorm on the East Coast forced officials to postpone several college basketball games and close three horse racing tracks.
One of the postponed basketball games was Rutgers at No. 8 Temple in Philadelphia. The game was rescheduled for tonight. Other Division I games postponed because of snow were Hofstra at Drexel and Loyola of Maryland at St. Francis of New York.
Monday’s racing programs were canceled at Aqueduct, Suffolk Downs and Charles Town race tracks. Officials at Laurel Race Course in Maryland also canceled today’s races.
