Moving firms got permission to raise rates.

The California Public Utilities Commission gave trucking companies that move used household goods permisstion to raise hourly rates for local moves by an average 16% and rates for distance moves by an average 13%. Last April, local hourly rates were increased by 5% and long-distance rates by 10% on an interim basis.
