Heating Pad Kills Baby

HAMBURG, West Germany — A newborn baby boy burned to death on an incubator heating pad Wednesday night, a Hamburg hospital spokesman said Thursday. A malfunctioning timer, which is supposed to switch the pad off after a pre-set temperature has been reached, was blamed.
