WASHINGTON — Leslye Arsht, a former Nixon White House aide and corporate public affairs officer, has been selected as a deputy White House press secretary, chief spokesman Marlin Fitzwater announced today.
The White House spokesman said Arsht, 41, a native of Houston, will join his staff March 16 after security clearance. Arsht has been on leave from the Cabot Corp. of Boston, a Fortune 500 manufacturing firm, where she was director of public affairs. A Republican, she previously served President Nixon, writing a news summary, and worked with Fitzwater at the Environmental Protection Agency.
