Pitcher Annette Gonzales struck out 11 and gave up 3 hits in 7 innings to lead Fullerton College to a 3-1 victory over Orange Coast in a nonconference softball game at OCC.
The Pirates led, 1-0, in the fifth, but Fullerton pinch-hitter Traci Smith’s two-run double gave thte Hornets the lead in the season opener for both teams.
Golden West 6, College of the Canyons 0--Kathy Fogg pitched a three-hitter and struck out eight as the Rustlers won their season opener at Huntington Beach.
