Dutch Drug Sellers Getting Too Pushy

AMSTERDAM — Entrepreneurs trying to get ahead in Amsterdam’s booming drug market have begun offering free home delivery, and police say they are pushing the limits of official tolerance.
“This is going too far,” a police spokesman said Friday.
A business called Blow Home Couriers offers free home delivery of hashish and marijuana--minimum order $12--in leaflets posted throughout the city.
Although the so-called soft drugs are illegal in Holland, Amsterdam tolerates their use and sales within limits.
The courier service probably has overstepped the bounds by advertising their wares, the spokesman said.
Investigators traced the leaflets to one of the city’s estimated 250 coffee shops that openly sell soft drugs, and the public prosecutor will decide whether to bring charges.
“There are always people who will bend the rules, no matter what policy we adopt,” the spokesman said.
